The usually peaceful St. Vrain River snakes out of the Rocky Mountains, winding mischievously towards our brewery. Named after Ceran St. Vrain, an 1800’s trapper and trader in the valley, St. Vrain is our version of a classic Belgian Tripel. Light in color and lightly hopped using Celeia hops, a touch of malt sweetness contrasts the warm spiciness hidden within. What at first appears benevolent can manifest into a mighty serpent in waiting.

Aroma: The nose is floral hops, grass, lemon, some funky notes, lots of spice, and some yeast
Appearance: It pours a clear golden color with a fizzy white. Head and drippy lace work
Flavor: The flavor is along the same line, yeasty, spicy, and a little funky, with a clean, medium bitter
Palate: Medium body, an average-plus carbonation, a pretty great drinkability, and a dryish finish
Overall Impression: This kind of made my think Tripel-Saison hybrid, but that might just be me. Anyway, I quite liked it. The spice, yeast, and funk play nicely with the hoppy flavors. It's drier and funkier than your normal Tripel. Really enjoyed this one.

Pours hazy golden with a mid-sized, thick head. Aroma is yeast, wheat, orange peels and sweat. Dry, yeasty and wheaty flavour with notes of orange marmalade leading to an alcohol bitter finish. Well crafted and pleasant.

Tap at the Bad Apple, Chicago. Poured a crystal clear light amber with a thin white head. The aroma is yeast with a some hints of malt and alcohol. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a yeast malt liqourice weak alcohol palate.

Bottle. Almost clear light golden liquid with small to medium white head. Aroma of bread, grain, banana, bubblegum, vanilla, iron, ham and light butter. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of grain, vanilla, banana, ham and iron. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Waaay to sweet and extremely estery. Pretty bad.

650ml Bottle - Pale gold in colour. Spice, lemon, tea and yeast in the aroma. Spicy and hoppy taste with banana, yeast, lemon and tea detected, along with a hint of coriander.
