Bottle from KBL. Deep orange-amber, medium, fine head. Caramel, malty, light chocolate, fudge. Light herbal hops. Malt seems quite German, Munich especially. Rich, tasty malt, rather bitter hops with pine. Bitter herbs, raisin. Full body and a bit heavy. Too bitter.

Bottle from Tsuta Saketen via Rakuten. Orange in color with a thick beige head. The aroma is spicy peppery biscuit, with mild piney hop notes. The expiry date is July 2018 so I’m guessing it may be 10 months old based on the Japanese standard one year shelf life. I’m guessing the hops dropped out or they were more bitterness additions than aroma ones. Medium to full bodied with some warmth going down. The taste is that spicy peppery sweet caramel biscuit then a bitter pine molasses comes in. Actually, really tasty but more an Imperial Irish Red than a Double IPA.
