Early fall had farmers picking whole cone hops and shipping them to us overnight to brew a wet hop beer. We kicked up a black beer with a very sticky hop character. Beware of the StickyFat Bear.

Purchased at the Half Acre brewery in Chicago, IL in bomber form, enjoyed on Halloween evening having to work staying indoors while it snows outside. Appearance is a murky dark brown with a moderate slightly off white head. Aroma is a mixture of roasted chocolate malt and leafy hops, light caramel, smells great. Taste finishes bitter but has a sweet nutty quality which I find fantastic. Really enjoying this one, another great Half Acre brew.

Growler via a trade. Pours with a black body and a large tan head with good lace and pretty decent retention. Aroma has an odd styrofoam quality, but past that there is chocolate, some fruit, citrus, orange and some esters. Malt bill is a bit on the prominent side of things. Flavors of chocolate, an odd grape character, fruit, citrus, tangerine, lightly grassy. Only a medium bitterness, with a dry finish and medium carbonation.

Courtesy of HOPSHUNTER. Growler pours mahogany with infra red edges and half inch mocha head leaving some decent sheet lacing behind. The aroma is dark roasty malts, black licorice, some chocolate and spicy hops. The taste starts with firm dark roasted malts and then pulling up some chocolate, vague hop bitterness, some spicy hops, burnt malts and then a mild level of spicy black licorice.

Growler shared by Kan, thanks. Poured a clear dark brown with a gray brown head that dissipated slowly to the edges. Aroma a had a combination of pine with some sweet dark grains. Flavor began with some dark grains, but the pine grows which led to the dark grains becoming a backing note.
