Perfectly acceptable alternative to Boston Lager, a little better in fact, with a very similar caramel-n-bread malt vibe but a noticeably more floral hop bite and an unexpected woodsy turn on the finish. Lots of caramel underscored by hints of sourdough, apple, lager yeast, and a mild but discernible noble hop back end. Not exciting, but a respectable take on a oft-ignored style, and a nice old-school break from juicy hazed hop smoothies. Gorgeous pour comes out a cloudy copper-gold with a never-ending head and massive layers of lace. Aroma is mostly caramel and yeast with an oaked undercurrent. Smooth, full feel is creamy and way too easy to put back. Yet another highly drinkable Sam Adams lager.

Pours a slightly cloudy light brown from a bottle. Slightly spicy and yeasty aroma, similar flavor, okay beer.

12oz bottle. Murky amber-copper body. Foamy, soapy, off-white head. Medium bodied. OK malt tones, but the house yeast is sort of bland and apparent. The oak(?) adds an interesting complexity. The malts are bready and pleasant. An OK beer, underrepresented style.

12oz bottle-tight foamy tan-hazy amber/orange. A-honey/bready-lt malt. Orange? T-orange, honey/caramel/bready-lt malt, some spice hops. Quaffable. (ok, wont argue with the oak.) 747414-3.6

Bottle. Earthy lactic caramel malt and hay aroma. Hazy dark amber with large light tan head. Moderately sweet milky caramel malt and mildly bitter herbal hay flavor. Nice body and balance. Excellent - they really need to make this a regular.

12 oz bottle from the American Craft Lagers variety pack. Aroma is grassy, herbal, honey. Pours hazy deep gold to amber with a two finger beige head with good retention. Taste is lightly sweet and toasty before showcasing a significant herbal hop bitterness. Good stuff.
