Think of Roasted Rye as the best of an India Pale Ale and a Winter Warmer wrapped up in the same beer. Citrus and tangerine in the nose are supported by chocolate, caramel, and coffee-like roasted notes from the five different malts we use. A favorite among many members of our team, this was the beer that started it all for us as homebrewers back in 2010.

Sandy coloured rocky head stayed on a rich oak coloured, still body. Aroma of pine, sweet berries & woody. Thick on the palate with plenty of cloying. Smooth, creamy, minimal carbonation. Sweet fruits, caramel & dark berries to the fore. This quickly dissipates over the tongue into tangy, citrus, pine, woody, earthy back.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy amber with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is rye and caramel. Medium body, caramel, pine, rye, light bitter finish, good.

Deep red. Tasty malt profile. Sweet caramel and some chocolate. Spicy rye with earth and light citrus. Finish has lingering bitter and spice. Medium bodied. Very enjoyable.

Draft pour pint at Reuben’s. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a lasting fizz head. Grainy, dark fruit aroma. Thick creamy body, heavy rye and spice. Rye finish. Not bad. UPDATE: 12 oz can poured. Very nice beer here, and more.enjoyable than the first time around. Has a big spicy rye that dominates and really showcases the style. Spicy rye linger. I have always had a rough time with rye especially, but honestly, they really pulled this off well.

Draft - Citrus, pine and dark caramel. Cloudy brown with a decent light brown head. Caramel, citrus, pine and Chocolaty caramel. Very different with nice sweet dark caramel and light rye spice, without too much hop profile.

On tap at Reuben's brews, pours a hazy dark amber orange with a medium beige head. Aroma of rye, dry caramel and a bit of citrus. Flavour of rye malt, some roasted and a bit of bitterness from the hops. Doesn't actually strike me as an IPA, but more of a red rye. Finishes with pronounced rye and subtle bitterness. Solid stuff.
