We spent over a year prototyping R&D versions of Nu Skool. This final version is one special beer. It is an IPA with a slight malty sweetness, but overall balanced & brimming with tropical, fruity, spicy, piney & citrus character. To contrast our IPA, which most closely resembles a traditional English IPA in malt & hop bills, we wanted to brew an India Pale Ale in a new way. West Coast brewers have been brewing lighter, more "Americanized" yet still full of hop character & our brewers wanted to try their hand by brewing their take.

HOP PROCESS: We used 3.5 lbs. of "new school" varieties of hops per barrel of beer. We load our hopback to the brim with Mosaic hops for a big tropical fruit character. A nice whirlpool dose of experimental hop #07270 gives the beer a flavorful, resinous character. We then dry hop this beer on two separate days with a large amount of Mosaic hops in our hop cannon & Simcoe + Equinox two days later.

Canned. Orange yellow pour. Tasty fruity up front but not too pronounced. Juicy finish. Liked

Part of their Overpack'd 15-pack from Publix in Kissimmee, Florida. Clean light-golden colour with great tiny-bubble carbonation, a white frothy head, decent stay and some foamy lace. Hoppy aromas with the citrus and tropical fruit notes. The taste is quite bitter with the grass bite. Citrus as well here, and the tropical hints are very light. A very dry mouthfeel. Pretty good if you like Mosaic and other newer hops.

Little bar in the corner of the Supermarket - had to have a beer whilst deciding which beers to buy to bring back home! Very nice juicy pale ale.

Pours a clear dark straw color from a can, minimal lacing, thick head made of large bubbles quickly dissipates. Stone fruit in the aroma along with a bit of grass and earth, nice. Flavor a little less strong and thin. Good beer.

Not so sure about the New Skool moniker here like Busta. Tastes like a West Coast IPA more than any NE style. Pours golden with ok head. Pine and some citrus. Bitter finish with some malt. Bottle.

My last rate from the 5 rate mix 15 pack. Slightly cloudy deep gold. Nose is tropical fruit and pine. Taste of pineapple, gooseberry, pine, florals and grass. Light bitters slightly malty. Some resin and residual sugar on finish.

12oz bottle from Wegman's, West Seneca. A slightly hazy amber pour with a thin white head; fresh tropical fruit aroma; sweet fruity taste that fills the mouth with pineapple and mango and has a nicely offset bitterness; followed by a sweet fruity malt finish. Rather good.
