Hazy deep amber beer, bubbly pale tan head. A pretty light palate, modest fine carbonation. Thin but flavoursome malts, a bit of an artificial choccy vibe along with a fair bit of natural spice, bitterish. Mixed ripe fruits. Light finish leaves a spicy linger. Muddled and over spiced. Not great.

Bottle at home. Hazy red-brown color, medium sized beige head. Aroma is malts, dark forest fruit. Taste malts, lightly molasses, again dark maybe overripe forest fruit and a hint of liquorice, laurel / bayleaf, more herbs or spices, sweetish. Body is medium, carbonation is soft. Exactly what they say it is: a strong dark ale to slowly enjoy. The herbal / spice thing isn't for me, but it's well brewed.

Tap at NBPF. Clear nice reddish rown with beige head. Marzipan, dried plums, alcohol, fresh grapes, a hint of cinnamon. Quite sweet and quite some hoppy and alcoholic bitterness. Almost full bodied. Nice beer but a bit alcoholic.
