Pink grapefruit. Light maltiness, bit of bitterness. Good stuff. Easy drinking and enjoyable.

Bottle. This is a collaboration with TY Harbor made to celebrate Ise Kadoya’s 20th (!) Anniversary and inspired by New England IPAs. Lightly hazy like many Japanese beers and thankfully nowhere near the mud-like looks of some NE IPAs I’ve seen online in photos. However, it does have a mouth-wateringly juicy bouquet full of prickly pear, mango, papaya and so on making it decidedly tropical. Medium to light bodied with a dry finish. The fruity hops combined with crisp pale malts, dryness and a minty finish makes for such a pleasing brew I wish I’d bought more. I hope I can find some more somewhere...

Tap at Takumi. Big fruity nose nose, orange, grapefruit, papay, spice, peppery. Hazy gold with a low, fine head. Not super cloudy or yeasty. Quite juicy and spicy flavor, peppery, not very bitter. Very slightly tart. A bit thin. soft but prickly or fizzy carbonation. The finish is a bit too minerally which becomes a bit unpleasant. Good stuff, getting close to the New England style but not quite there yet. Actually better from the bottle. Still fresh. More hazy, more hop nose.

Pours nice clear pale yellow, not much foam. Aroma sweet ripen tropical fruits, bit of herbal kick there as well, indicating well hopped IPA. Taste reveals similar fruity flavour, and grassy herbal aftertaste. Drinks easy and is quite enjoyable, decent IPA.

Keg at Ant ’n Bee - Tomyo. Pours mostly clear yellow-gold with a creamy white head and lasting lacing. Moderate juicy citrus in the nose, pale bread, ripe lemon. Medium sweet flavour with notes of white grape, lemon gummies, pale bread, mild bitterness. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Nicely balanced finish, with further gummy citrus, light pine, pale bread, lemon, peach. Nice IPA.
