Ruby red in color, Bière De Garde by Extraomnes is a beer with intense and enveloping hints. The nose and the palate perceive sweet fruity notes, macerated fruit, and more spicy notes with peppery tingling. Velvety and soft in drinking.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 24C). Bottle 33 cl - Batch 156 17 (BBF 06 19). AROMA: medium-low malt aroma with a slight toasty-sweet character, followed by medium-low to low fruity esters (candied oranges). slight peppery alcohol presence and faint yeast. APPEARANCE: amber color and slightly hazy. medium-large ivory head with good retention. lace formation. TASTE: medium-low to low toffe-like malt flavor, followed by a medium estery presence (Orange-like). medium-low bitterness with a dry finish. PALATE: medium-light body with medium carbonation. moderate alcohol warming. OVERALL: a biere de garde with the base characteristics but a bit balanced towards an estery profile.

On tap @Bir&Fud (Rome). Pours amber with a medium white head. Aroma is mostly malty, yeasty, light spices, esters. Flavour is medium sweet, sugary, with a delicate bitter end. Medium body, medium carbonation. Not my favourite style, but this one is a good beer!
