355ml bottle. Clear, orangey golden colour with small, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Minimally papery, piney hoppy aroma, hints of orange, caramel malty bais with a touch of almond. Taste is caramel malty with an almond touch, bitter hoppy with a cardboard touch, diluted unspecific fruitiness. Brute force, not much subtlety of flavours whatsoever.

12 oz bottle. Deep copper color, clear, with lace. Syrupy malt nose, caramel, peaches, gooey. Sweet and syrupy, apricots and oranges. Very mediocre.

Bottle at Hop Buds. A rich sweet hoppiness and full maltiness. Full bodied and sweet with lots of fruits, prickly pear and pine. The taste is boozy but smooth while you get lots of sweetness, pine, citrus and treacle. A textbook rich Double IPA.

Sample at Paddy Long’s in Chicago. This beer is a slightly hazy orange-amber color with a thin white head that burns away quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium to full body with flavors of grapefruit, resiny hops and malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a fruity hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

Pours deep gold into a shaker. White head with good retention recedes to hug rim. Hot caramel aromas. Sweet with hot caramel and citrus front to back and into the warming finish.

Bottle from Stone in Asagaya. Light berry notes on the nose, caramel and some light stone fruit. 10 percent alcohol is fairly well hidden at first, but gets boozy and syrupy as it warms. Very old school to me.

Tasting at Matt’s
Hazy light amber color. Some aroma of hops and apples, not convincing. Strong mouthfeel, a bit oily, I’m not impressed by the malt nor by the hops, although the bitterness is strong; it’s boozy, too alcoholic, and it has a fundamental apple presence. Cloying. Not very good.

Light amber, slight haze. There is just a little bit of head. The hops are orange, papaya, peach, but the overripe or stewed version of these. Similar palate. Sweet, quite malty. The hops comes across more as cantaloupe, Sweet, sticky but ultimately gets tough to drink.
