Tap at Gremlin. Nice maltiness, bit of caramel but lots of hoppinsss too. Citrus, resin, good stuff. Quite bitter. Enjoyed this a few times, but judging by the notes I had, I might have been a bit intoxicated.

Bottle from Taniguchi. A deep cloudy black with ruddy brown highlights and a thin head of beige foam. It’s got a nicely complex hop bouquet: floral, fruity (grapefruit & blood orange), that also has a nice toasted malt character. Medium bodied with a sharp bitter finish. The hops play with dark bitter malts well. Pine, citrus, floral and toasted roasty dark malts. A good take on a hoppy beer for cold weather.

Bottle. Pours murky brown, hazy and not much carbonation. Aroma is herbal/hoppy with some bready malt base. There is definitely a lot of hops used for to get this thing to "India" level, feels a bit messy though, rough around edges and could benefit from more carbonation, pretty flat coming out from this bottle. Long herbal hop linger in the finish.

Tap at Komachi. Cloudy dark brown color. Medium head. Nice citrus nose with chocolate and coffee and a bit of caramel. Rich malt flavor, nice chocolate and nice citrus hop flavors. Tasty stuff. Not pushing any boundaries, but nice.
