Sample from the can. Pours dark brown, with a small, tan head. The nose is milk chocolate, light roast coffee, cinnamon, and chalk. Sweet and malty, with a little bit of roasted bitterness. Light body, watery, and a bit astringent. This is a fair, malty beer. Thin, weak, and unimpressive.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a dark brown with small off white head. The aroma is roast coffee, dark chocolate, wood. Thick, body, wood, dark chocolate with lingering dry finish, good.

Can from a mixed six pack deal I did in Denver. Can from a mixed six pack deal I did in Denver. A cola brown with a brown head. A malted caramel almost homebrew like aroma doesn’t start things off all that well. Medium bodied and smooth pleases the palate but the fairly dull cocoa and coffee flavor was weak. Kind of lame and disappointing in how average it was. Not off or anything just exceedingly boring.

Can. Rather thin porter with lots of coffee plus some chocolate and fruity notes. Ok but not all that much happening.

Can. A- Coffee, mocha, cocoa. A- Black color, black liquid, tan head. T- Coffee, mocha, cocoa, slightly malty, slightly roasty. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, malty finish. O- Coffee on the forefront and cocoa on the back. Just a little more thin and malty on the body than I would prefer and not overly robust but still quite a good beer.

Tap at the brewery - dark ruby - creamy texture - leafy bitterness and notes of tobacco make way for vanilla cream sweetness, light smoke, espresso, and.bittersweet.chocolate - decently made, but the bitterness is a bit much.

Sample at GABF 10/03/2014, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. Dark brown color with a medium tan head that recedes steadily. Strings of lace. Chocolate and coffee in the nose. Light-bodied with roast coffee and chocolate malt flavors. Slight hops. The finish is sweet with a chocolatey aftertaste. Decent overall.
