Bottle. Nice aroma, dank and funky, bit of grapefruit. Taste is alright, white wine, salty, fruit, something a bit twiggy about it. I like it, but not sure. Alternate sips are very nice and not sure pretty much consistently which is a bit weird. Minerals.

AJB #3 is an Acid IPA so basically a Sour IPA I'd heard sediment was an issue so I poured carefully and was rewarded with a beautiful orange gold with a fizzy white head that vanished fast. The aroma is all over the place: sweet tarts, grapes, peach, yoghurt but also acidity and hints of baby sick. Pretty complex but nice enough. The taste is very acidic tart white grapes, lots of sweet tart candy notes, some green herbal qualities that evoke a grapevine. I'm digging it though I don't feel anything IPA like about it in the slightest. I kind of get the feeling AJB is like Casey in Colorado putting out good enough sours that show promise but aren't quite hitting it out of the ballpark yet. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from the brewery. Cloudy peach juice colored, lace. got very murkey and globby soon, wiht way too much gook in the bottom of the bottle. Nose is peaches, funk, spice, some vinegar, passion fruit. Lemony flavor, peaches and punk. Medium plus level of sour, more without the yeast. Bitter, funky finish. Interesting, getting better. Good carbonation this time. Still, they need to do a cleaner bottling with less crap in there. The whole second half of the bottle poured like crap.

Very very cloudy amber white color, with little head. Doesn’t look that great. As the bottle opened the white wine barrel just sprung out and filled the room. That was surprising. Lots of oak, Apple skins, somewhat cider-ish, mildly acidic nose. Very interesting nose. Very tart, refreshing lots of white wine character, low hops, highly acidic with big lingering Apple skin finish. Wow, this is funky funky stuff. Not remotely like a saison with a much fuller body. Dry lingering acidic finish with a touch of oak and white wine lingers. Awesome stuff. This is the type of beer I was hoping to try from AJB.

Bottle shared. Lots of citrus, pineapple and light acidic vinegar aromas. Great, active carbonation. Wonderfully acidic and fruity on the palate. More lemon and iyokan citrus with an aggressively sour finish. The end of the bottle gets a little too much to handle with the funk and yeast. Still a very unique beer in Japan and well-done. --- Beer merged from original tick of Barrel Reserve Series #3 on 03 May 2016 at 15:40 - Score: 8. Original review text: Orange and citrus forward nose. Bright zesty citrus. TRt sourness, vinegar. Acidic palate. Dry. Nice.
