Draft at Tsuki to Taiyo, Sapporo, Japan. Pours brilliant brown, with moderate carbonation. Aroma is definitely coffee. Body is average, like carbonation. Would have appreciated a little more body or less carbonation. Taste is moderate in both sweetness and bitterness (from roasted malts). Finish is fairly long and roasty.

Tap at Kyoto Festa. Nose of coffee, caramel, stone fruit. Rather sweet flavor, fruity, nice coffee, caramel. A bit creamy. Nice.

On tap at the Kyoto Fest. A reddish brown with a beige head. The aroma is a strong ground coffee and sharp (rye?) malt note. Medium bodied with a dry finish. It’s got a nice smooth coffee flavor with just a hint of sweetness to balance it out. Best I’ve had today (three or four beers in at that point).

Sampler at Watering Hole. Brown with light amber highlights and no head. Caramel nose with light British tea notes. No coffee on the nose. Light body with the tea leaves standing out but as it moves toward the finish the roasted coffee notes stand out. Some light chocolate as well. Interesting, more of a tea/coffee hybrid brown. --- Beer merged from original tick of Shonan 27 Coffee Ale on 05 Jan 2016 at 20:33 - Score: 6. Original review text: Coffee and tea together...not bad.
