Keyaki. Aroma is earthy, grassy. Little sweet maltiness. Nice enough. Want to try it again.

Last of the keg at KBC. Much more herbal compared to the fruitiness you get from the KBC version. Shonan collaboration is a pale gold with a filmy white head and dank herbal fruit aroma. Light bodied with a round carbonation. The taste is very grassy green minty hops with some hay and perhaps some subtle banana notes as well. Nice.

Rerate: Even better on tap at CBM Terrace. Big heady, lemongrass notes. Great carbonation. More headiness. Just amazing. Great work Shonan / Kyoto. Keyaki spring. Clear yellow with a bit of lace that lingers. Fresh cut grass, shungiku and light lemon. Super crisp and refreshing on the palate with a crisp and light feel. Finishes bitter. As it warms up lots of goody weed-like notes come out. Liked this one a tad better than the Kyoto version. Great. --- Beer merged from original tick of Shokyo Secchu (湘京折衷) on 15 May 2016 at 12:21 - Score: 7

Tap at Keyaki. Pale, golden yellow with lace. A bit less nose than the KBC version, lager character is coming through nicely, though, with the hops. Grass, orange, creamy. Smooth and tasty, less impact from the hops compared with the ale, but subtly balanced. Sadly, there is a strange vegetal note in the finish that kind of ruins it for me. Very good until that.
