Tap at Taptime. Nice aroma, tropical fruit, mango, grapefruit, some Belgian character. Taste is good, not a fan of imperial saisons in general, but this is pretty nice. Ultra fruity, bit funky, booze doesn't kill it. Decent bitterness. Booze is definitely there, but seems balanced. Strawberry too, something creamy. Something herbal and spicy too, that clove thing that I sometimes get from iss.

Tap at Beer Komachi. A pale gold with a yeasty fruity spicy wheat aroma. Fairly full bodied with a very yeasty sweet fruity flavor. A little over the top, but very tasty.

Nice golden colour with a healthy high white head. Aroma ha definitely that saison yeast thing going on, spices mixed with some herbal hops. Taste feels very fresh and superbly balanced - alcohol is nowhere to be seen, it is not overdone with yeast character, not with malt body and definitely not with hops. Dangerously drinkable, herbal hop characteristics coming out at the end. Great beer!

Bottle from Yamaoka. Big hop nose with grapefruit, funk, piss, less booze. Flavor also a bit settled down, nice yeasty funk and great hops, without the booze of the newer version on tap. More mellow, but big flavors of hop and yeast. Much better in the bottle. Wish I had more to age. Tap at Shinshu Mura, March 16. Cloudy gold with lace. Nose is cat piss hops, saison yeast, booze, crackers, grapefruit. Big and boozy flavor, not so good as the regular, but with nice fruitiness and hops. Maybe with some age is will be better, or in the bottle. This was just too boozy. 7/4/7/4/14

Bottle from Tanakaya. Pours a fairly clear golden straw with a finger of foam. Orange, tangerine, iyokan on the nose with fruity esters from the yeast: some apple, pear and a touch of spearmint. Tropical fruit on the palate with pineapple and mango taking the spotlight alongside lemon zest and yogurt. Slight creamy mouthfeel. Average carbonation with a medium body. Slightly boozy on the finish. Still a fun take on ISS. --- Beer merged from original tick of Imperial Indian Summer Saison on 30 Mar 2016 at 21:47 - Score: 7. Original review text: I like it. Good citrusy hop forward nose with nice lemon yogurty tartness. Too boozy to be great but I still like it.
