Midtown tasting. Orange, lightly cloudy and with sone white bubbles on the top. Nose is tart, fruity and lightly funky, kind of feels like cider or even sidra. Taste is tart and funky, farmhouse. Some whiskey comes out as well but its not boozy. Lots of oak though. Whiskey coming out also in the linger. Relatively thin body, feels lighter than 10% abv for sure.

From the bottle. A barrel aged Saison at 10% is new to me. No visible expiration date. Pours orange with a thin, frothy head. Aroma is full of peaches, wood, whiskey and Brett funkiness. Taste is mildly sour up front, even tart, mellows though as the barrel kicks in and brings a dry whiskey bitterness into the mix. Warming at the end. Body is to the light side of medium, carbonation is understated. Unique but probably not worth the high price this is going for in Germany.

Medium deep amber color. Tons of oak, brett, apricot and orange. Heavy malty nose. Full body, tons of apricots, brett, oak, very malty full on beer, but alcohol well hidden. Low carbonation. Tart, oaky, heavy malty finish with marmalade. Just big and heavy Brett barrel aged beer. Very interesting but doesn’t completely blow me away.

Pours clear gold into a snifter. Bright white head with little retention recedes to skim surface. Sour pit fruit and whiskey aromas. Soft with sour oak and whiskey upfront to tart plum in the lasting finish. Didn’t pick up any Brett.

Purchased this bottle at 7 Eleven, Kittery, ME. Aroma of strong whiskey and light vinegar, oak. Flavor has kind of an abrasive whiskey, funky oak, oak tannins, maybe a slight bourbon vanilla note. A lot of funky oak and whiskey with some moderate amounts of malt backbone. I am on the fence if I really like this brew. It is interesting and I do like the creativity but would not buy it again. Maybe a little more time sitting would have helped marry the flavors together. After all, how many 10 % "saison’s" do you drink?

Bottle. Oily, tart nose, peach, apricot, honey. Deep gold color. Sweet orange and peach with nice tartness, sour dough, wood, vanilla, wood. Great fruit and dry finish. Good stuff.

Bottle from the Brewery Slightly hazy light golden color with a smallish bubbly white head that dissipates quickly. Earthy brett funk on the nose with bits of wood tannin and some light fruity vinous notes as well as faint whiskey and vanilla. The flavor is more funky brett than saison. Big vinous and light balsamic flavors. Light honey maltiness seems to be fading. Lingering woody vanilla bourbon note. Medium body actually seems a bit on the sweet side for a Saison, moderate carbonation. Tasty brew, but kind of blurring the line between funky saison and full blown American wild ale. I liked it, but it was quite pricey for what I got.
