Bottle by mail order. Caramel nose, lots of esters, peaches, ornge, maybe a touch of diacetyl. Brown with lace. Cloudy. Malty, sweet flavor, caramel, fudge, rotten fruit. Rather harsh finish. Light and a bit thin. Like a sweet brown ale with some issues.

Hinotani Irish Red Ale 5% Bottle from the brewery. It pours a matte mahogany brown with a malty sweet nutty aroma that has hints of lemon. Medium bodied with a sharp carbonation. The taste is surprisingly bitter, mostly lemon & grapefruits with some astringent nutty biscuit character. It’s alright but feels like a work in progress.
