Tap at Craft Hands. Nice, light graininess, light herb, little bit of berry. Good stuff.

Pours golden, yellowsh with a white he. Aroma is fragrant, bit of herbal and grassy hops, funky and white IPA’ish base. Taste is very refreshing, bitter and full of grapefruit seeds and peels. At the same time quite light and refreshes you nicely, leaving a nice linger continuing for longer. Easygoing, light and nicely executed sessionable saison.

Shiga Kogen’s Saison Blanc 5.5% The bright gold beauty has a long lasting filmy head of foam and a spicy saison aroma: peppery, wheat, cloves with some edgy funk - my kind of saison. Medium bodied with a dry finish. The taste matches the aroma fairly well but then kicks in a bunch of citrusy hop notes. The hop notes in the finish are more tropical, I like it - it remains a saison but got an extra dose of hops. I get the feeling that lately Shiga Kogen are adding hops to everything which is overkill in my book but they’ve all remained eminently drinkable and I’m sure found fans. This is growing on me, I still think all styles don’t necessarily benefit from tons of hops though..

Bottle from Tankaya. Pours a clear pale straw color with a small half-finger soapy white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Belgian yeast nose that really stands out on the nose with some lemon, white grapefruit pith and cracked pepper. Lots of grapefruit pith and lemon zest on the palate with some light mango and pineapple notes. Very citrusy and tropical fruit-forward on the palate. Lingering light, bitter finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Shiga Kogen Saison Blanc on 16 Nov 2015 at 20:50 - Score: 7

Poured into taster showing neon yellow, moderate filtration, translucent, and light foam around the edges. The nose shows tart notes of lemon and a very light malty background. The palate is highly carbonated and medium bodied. A very slight tartness permeates throughout with a slight hop bitterness constantly lingering in the background. A very light fruit forwardness of lemon and a light citric tingle on the finish. Overall, an easy drinking and fun saison. I would prefer a bit more tartness but I’m not complaining.

Medium golden color. Hoppy nose with wheat, cracked pepper very estry. Big carbonated hoppy mouth but not overly complex. Short dry finish. Decent.

Tap at Bungalow. Hazy gold with a low, fine head. Lemony nose, light crackery malt. Crisp, very funky flavor, really dirty. Full, smooth bosy. Quite authentic Belgian yeast. Good.
