Tap at ibrew wired. Wheaty, floury, a bit sweet. Some strange sweetness, something fruity, alright.

On tap at Burnside. The colour is clear straw with a small off-white head. Aroma of grass, hay, pale malt and spices. Flavour of grassy hops, hay and pale malt. Has a slick mouth feel, light body and a light to medium bitterness. A tasteful and okay helles.

Extremely pale lager with nearly no head. Spritzy citrus and cereal grains in the aroma. Medium thin body. Flavor follows the aroma with the toasted cereal grains really the main player here. Not a lot else other than maybe a hint of citrus. Pretty boring.

Can from BCS. Shared with family on New Years. Clearish golden orange with a small white head. Lemon zest and biscuit aromas on the nose. Average to above average carbonation with an interesting sweetness on the palate: biscuits and honey with plastic. More lemon zest and maybe lemon pie. Finish is sweetish. Can at Len. Gold, just a bit hazy, with a fine, low head. Nose is lemon, grains, and some DMS. Flavor is more DMS, lemon, hay, sweet malt, and a bit of corn. Soft carbonation and a bit soapy. Nice prickly finish. Needs sorting out, obviously.

Can from World Beer Market, served in a footed pilsner glass. Couch Select Lager from Portland’s Burnside Brewing Co. Has a great minimalist label and pours a deep gold with a crackery, slightly sweet minty & nutty aroma. Very interesting. Medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel. The taste is very earthy, chewey malts & has a herbal medicinal quality that gives me ginseng. Beautiful can but one of the most bizarre lagers I’ve had. Not bad just weird.
