"Sisu is a Finnish word generally meaning stoic determination, bravery, resilience, perseverance and hardiness, expressing the historic self-identified Finnish national character." -Wikipedia
It takes guts and willpower to get through the thick part of starting a brewery. Even more, when you are starting it in different country and face all kinds of challenges. You give it your best and seems like nothing is enough — yet you choose to keep going and give it your everything, that is sisu. Keep calm and keep going. Today you can enjoy this perseverance in a form of this Double IPA.

(Keg at OlutExpo 2015) The beer poure dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Palate was medium bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Aroma had booze, sweetness and caramel. Flavours were sweetnes, booze, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste had sweetness and booze. Too sweet and too boozy.

Keg at De Drie Dorstige Herten, Utrecht, Netherlands, Wednesday 30th September 2015. Reddy amber in colour with a sticky off white head atop. Malty but a good hoppy thrust and a real perfume punch, lavender or violet perhaps. Quite thick mouthfeel the hops are a little resiny. Good beer. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov15 3.7

Amber color with frothy white head. The nose is way too much dms with cream corn. Medium body modest bitterness. Very simple but weird hopping.

Tap at Brewdog Helsinki, Helsinki. Colour is clear orange with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Some fruits, caramel, sweetness, berries, strawberries, hops and malts. This oily strawberry juice is not my thing.

Draught @ Brewdog Helsinki Pours dark orange with a small head. Aroma of berries, sweetish fruits, caramely malts, toffee, syrup and hints of glue. Taste is sweet, malty and stuffy with some hints of berries, caramel, toffee and grassy hops. Finish is lingering bitter but a bit stuffy with some berries, toffee, caramely malts and gooseberries. A bit unbalanced, and unfortunately not quite as the version they served at Tallinn Craft Beer Weekend.

Draught @ Brewdog Helsinki, Sori meet the brewer -happening. Aroma is mild with biscuits and some resiny malt. Also some gluey tones. Flavour has gluey tones, menthol, some fruits and hints of cereal. Finishes with gooseberry bush, mint and more menthol. Not my thing.
