Bottle from Yamaoka, it pours a murky brown which isn’t that enticing but has a decent head or foam and staying power. The nose is very malt forward with minimal hoppiness, much more English than American style. Somewhat thin bodied. Malty flavor with some fruity hop character that shows a decently balanced flavor profile. OK, interesting in a historical sense but all I can say is you’ve come a long way Baird!

Tap at Komachi. Orange-brown, cloudy, tall head. Nose of oranges, biscuits, deep caramel. Caramel malt flavor, grass, citrus. Old school stuff. Quite tangy. Ok. This is fun as an historical statement, but they definitely have evolved in the right direction.
