Shiga Kogen blond on tap at Bud pours a clear light gold with a filmy white head. The nose is of a very floral hoppy bitterness. Leg hit bodied with a silky mouthfeel. The taste is crisp light malts & a sharp bitterness. Very tasty & easy drinking.

Tap. Nose is lemony, crackery malts, Belgian yeast. Some wheat as well. Nice orange flavors on top of the Belgian spiciness and clean malts. Good.

Bottle from Tanakaya. Poured into a tulip. Pours a fairly clear straw to light gold color with a small white head that dissipates fairly quickly but a thin ring lingers throughout. Solid lacing as well. Pilsener aromas of light grain and pepper hops abound with some white grapefruit, iyokan and cat piss noticeable as it warms up to room temperature. Light body with intense bitterness on the palate for the ABV. Average carbonation. Very crisp and refreshing albeit a tad too bitter. Bitter finish that lingers. --- Beer merged from original tick of BLOND on 26 Sep 2015 at 23:35 - Score: 7
