Tap at CBM Koenji. Lots of clove, lots of citrus, bit of plastic. Mellows a little further down but still feels over spiced. Bit of bubblegum. I love good saisons but this one's not for me.

Tap at 1020 as White Saison Koji. Cloudy pale fold, low lace. Tangy nose, grainy wheat, koji, citrus, a touch of peach, something like amazake. Quite tangy and acidic flavor, lemon, koji, bread or rice, quite grainy. After taste is quite sake-like. A bit weird. Doesn’t really come together.

Frothy white head. Pale golden color. Somewhat funky nose with a touch of lemon and pepper. The mouth is super light, with some funkiness, but finish is a bit too dry and boring. The kouji adds a certain smoothness to the body, but doesn’t go anywhere special.

Shonan White Saison 6.5% On tap at Garage 39. A clear deep gold with minimal head. The nose is a decent mix of cloves & saison funk. The taste is spicy cloves, cinnamon, a dab of fruit and a dollop of funk. Light bodied & very dry. A fun beer as I enjoy spicy esters a la belgian yeast. Yum.
