Bottle split at RB Best Encomium share, Santa Rosa, 30/01/16 - Many Thanks ! Hazed reddish amber with a decent off white to crimson cap. Nose is big tangy rasperries, mellow oak, wood must, strawberries, hay bale. Taste comprises mellow funk, damp wood, raspberry tang, red berry must, funk, light barnyard, tangy berry compote, mellow acidic feel. Medium bodied, fine carboanton, semi drying close. Decent easy drinking sour but failing to realise any depth and complexity that would elveate it into top 50 style for me !

RBWG16. No doubt thanks goes to the uber generous Boise crew. Cheers mates! This 2012 vintage bottle pours out with a murky copper colored body that supports a tan head. The aroma offers up berry notes that are both tart and meaty berry with a bit of yeast and funk in the background. The taste begins tart and then it quickly becomes puckering as a modest level of berry fruitiness sets in. The light fruitiness doesn’t hold a torch to the tart, refreshing puckeringness going on here. Solid.
