Bottle at Kaeru. Aroma is booze and apples, bit of sweetness. Taste is good, apples come through, bit sweet, apple fritters. Don't feel the booze in the mouth. Good stuff

Shimane (Beer Hearn) Apple Barley bottle from Yamaoka. 9% a deep brown pour with ruby highlights and a beige head of foam that vanishes leaving a film coating the surface of the brew. Wine like malty sweet apple aroma, kind of smells like the wort of my apple lager pre-boil. A bit sweet, a bit candyish and a bit tart makes the aroma pretty good. Zesty lively carbonation for quite a boozy caramel apple first impression. The second go around is malty biscuit, caramel and candied apple with a good dose of booze and some slight heat. Pretty good but not really coming together for me.

Tap at Bungalow. Reddish Amber, cloudy, white lace. Nose of apple soda, citrus, a bit of caramel. Interesting and unique. Sweet apple flavor, caramel, a touch of smoke and a bit of hard candy. Bitter finish. Somewhat thin body. Nice malt, though, rich and chewy. A bit too young.
