Can@SBWF2014 (shared by Bolagshataren, thanks!). Black colour, mediumsized beigeish brown head, which leaves some lace when settling. Aroma is chocolate, lactose, some honey and mild vanilla with a bit of tart wood. Flavour is chocolate, some lactose, mild honey, vanilla and some toasted nutty elements. Silky smooth.

Can shared at a tasting at the new LiBira brewpub. Better Beer Of The Month Club. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, a bit of orange peels. Sweet flavor with chocolate and lots of orange peels. Medium-bodied. Decent.

Can - pours dark brown and headless - nose of chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon, orange peel - medium body - starts fairly sweet, with the honey rather prominent - dries out a little through the middle, as a moderate spiciness develops, finishing with some vanilla and lingering spiciness - eh, it’s okay - a little thin overall.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a relatively fast-dying light-brown head and some muddy brown tints when held up to a light. Aroma of rich lactose, milk, roasted malt, coffee and quite a bit of chocolate - nice. Medium-bodied; Assertive lactose and milky flavours up front with some slightly sour notes, hints of the roasted malt and oatmeal and a touch of grapes and prune fruits. Aftertaste shows a slight unfinished quality with the lactose coming through and only a bit of chocolate and deep malts. Overall, a fairly nice beer with some robust flavours, but not too much complexity nor rich flavours - they come fast and heavy, but stay thin. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Total Wine in Cary, North Carolina on 02-August-2014 for US$2,29 sampled at home in Washington on 13-January-2015.

Can at Imazato. Nice, foamy head with blackness. Sweet and spicy, cream soda, a bit of chocolate, citrus and fruit. A bit too sweet but enjoyable.

Purchased at the Beer Temple in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home on a dark Wednesday night after going for a run. Appearance is pitch black with a carbonated tan head. Aroma is citrus floral with chocolate notes, hazelnut, smells sweet. Taste of vanilla, honey, citrus, chocolate, lactose, light mint, a ton going on with this one. Overall pretty good.

Can at Craft Cafe Imazato. 5.8% a dark black with ruby highlights. A really nice smokey roasted malt aroma. It has a really nice vanilla cream and some honey sweetness and umami. Quite nice.
