Bottle at Shinshusakemura. Nice. Citrus, grapefruit, lightly grainy. Fresh hops make it feel like an ipa. Herbal element is in the background. Maybe prefer this to the regular version.

Fall Keyaki 2015. Back out of retirement (or so it seems). Clear light blonde with a big soapy white head that lingers throughout. Nice big saison yeast nose with some lemon, grass and pepper. Great carbonation, but maybe a tad heavy for what I like in my saisons. Good finish with some spice and dryness, but just a tad sweet. Still very refreshing and well-done saison. --- Beer merged from original tick of Harvest Summer Saison on 26 Sep 2015 at 23:36 - Score: 7

Bottle from Yamaoka. Part of Shiga Kogen’s Fresh Hop series in the fall. Served in a tulip. It pours a beautiful clear gold with a foamy white head. The nose is saison farmhouse funk with a fresh minty green hoppy aroma - very interesting. The mouthfeel is very sharp with lots of carbonation. The taste is a funk, a bit of musty stinky cheese, earthy, some fruits, minty, lots of saison spice notes. I like it, it’s weird but quite fun and interesting.
