This variation of our Imperial Stout combines a portion of the year-round version combined with a portion that went through a lengthy aging process in freshly used tequila barrels. The blend is then combined with Dominican Republic cocoa nibs and cocoa powder, Madagascar Bourbon vanilla beans, Ceylon cinnamon, and blend of Mexican coffees. The result is a luscious, complex brew with notes of vanilla, oak, cocoa, and caramel.

Rating #9000! 750ml bottle @ 9k tasting. Pours pitch black with a smooth brown head. Aroma of stingy wood, agave, roasty malts, coffee, cocoa, chocolate and tequila. Taste is stingy, roasty and bitter with some agave, wood, oak, tequila, coffee and cocoa. Finish is stingy, woody and roasty with some agave, coffee, chocolate and spices. Quite different compared to other Speedway Stouts.

Tap at Cap Tap. Pours dark brn/blk with a tan head. Aromas of chocolate, cinnamon, smooth dark malt, and tequila. Full bodied. Flavor is chocolate, tequila, cinnamon, smooth burnt malt, ... think I can get coffee. Think there’s some must wood underneath it all. Not at all dry. Somehow it’s moderately bitter. Haven’t a clue as to hops. Pretty amazing stuff.

750 ml thanks to Willrunforbeer on this share. I never got a chance to track this one down!! Aroma is molasses, earthy coffee, chocolate. Flavor is vanilla, earthy coffee, molasses, weak roast, cinnamon. The tequila seems to have thinned out the body quite a bit. It shows some booze. Not my favorite variant of this stout at all but not bad in any sense.

Huge dark tan head, over virtually black beer. Parsley², coffee - strange aroma, dumbfounded! Coffee, sharpish flavours with alcohol, and no more parsley, even not retronasal. Well-bodied, but not really thick. Very slick to oily, however. Special, but certainly not stellar. Missing the cinnamon, it’s no Hunahpu...
