A lightly hazed golden amber ale with a thick creamy off white head. A rather doughy malt aroma with floral hops, a bit of honey and madeira, oxidation. In mouth, a rather sweetish light ale with faint hopping, buttery notes, cloying honey sweetness in finale. Undefermented? 1.59$ at CJs in Potsdam.

2004 bottle. Not sure how people are seeing haziness in this one. Very clear, transparent orange colored body, no yeast sediment, highly filtered. Moderate white head. Aroma has some grass and light earthy hops, as if the opening to a marzen or dortmunder. Very light though, and I have to strain to smell much other than a light, watery, graininess. Flavor does not add much more, with some light herbal, grassy hops, not bitter, but lightly hay-like as in a lager. This is fairly indistinguishable from a decent pale lager, though it dosent have the lager crispness due to its using an ale yeast. Pigfoot is right, it’s a sweet nothing, with no major ups or downs, just a very mediocre beer. Light body, moderate carbonation, low malt sweetness, just a tinge at the start. Still, I can think of a bunch of good pale lagers and golden ales that I’d rather drink than this. It just dosent have that much flavor, and the body is very watery.
