I picked this up in Osaka because it was about 400¥, rainy days suit the style I think. Yokohama Hamakura Session black IPA 4.5% 35 ibu Deep cola black with thick soapy tan foam that leaves copious lacing behind. Big floral piney hop bouquet with faint hints of roasty dark malts. Light bodied verging on watery. The taste starts off with piney, floral and lemony hop notes then roasted dark malts with mild chocolate notes. Pretty good and decently balanced but some wheat or something to bump up the thin body would be beneficial in my book. Decent value.

Medium brown. Hoppy nose with lots of coffee, citrus and caramel. Light smooth mouth, tons of coffee, milk chocolate and cherries. Nice depth. Rounded. Bitter finish.

Tap at 1020. Pitch black with a low head. Nose or orange, chocolate and a bit of coffee. Nice flavor of orange, coffee, chocolate, more roasty than the nose gives. Good balance. Tasty and light.
