Tap at 2014 Kyoto Zest beer festival. Black, cloudy, with lace. Nose of snacho pepper, chocolate, and some licorice. Sweet and fruity, with orange, sansho, cola. Thin and sweet, and a bit rough in the malts. Not working.

On tap at their stall at Gion Matsuri 2013. The second beer I got from them was head and shoulders above the Honey Lemon. This beer was a beautiful dark brown with a tan head. A pronounced herbal sansho aroma, great creamy mouthfeel and the sansho really offsets the dark malts making it quite well balanced. As it warmed up walking around the festival the malts started to come through but it remained exceptionally tasty. A really nice beer, I hope they brew this again as they don’t have all that many dark beers.
