Tap at Cafe de Tete as Masaji The First. Clear, golden. Light berries in the aroma. Almost something a bit sweet. Quite interesting. Taste is good, dry and crisp, grassy hops, bit of fruitiness, biscuity malt finish. Very easy drinking. Some creaminess a bit later on.

On tap at Beer Bar North Island in January 2015. Clear golden yellow color with a thin white head. Lemongrass, citrus and gooseberry on the nose. Very pleasant and not to overbearing. Nice biscuity taste with the same aromas present on the palate. Well-balanced body. Very crisp and dry finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of M's Lager -Masaji The Great- on 30 Mar 2015 at 15:23 - Score: 7

Bottle from Yamaoka. Very nice hoppy nose, lemon, grass, a bit of catpiss. Very light, bready maltiness, clean and lager-like. A lot of Nelson, I would guess. Orange-golden coilor, clear, with a low, bubbly head. Hoppy and lemony flavor, with rich biscuit and bready malts, slightly pissy hops. Very round, mellow, soft and silky body. Rather bitter finish. Good, but not perfect.

630 yen on tap at Yellow Ape Craft, 250ml. 5.8% pours a deep clear gold with a thin filmy head of foam. Served in a stange. A surprising citrus grapefruit aroma. The taste is a very crisp dry lightly puckering citrus bitterness with just hints of bitterness in the finish. Slightly slick mouthfeel on a medium-light body. A really good lager, some might label it that new "style" India Pale Lager.
