[9/13] So this is being counted as a new beer. Moving across. 2013 bottle. Black with a tan head that laces well. Lots of whisky in the aroma this time as well as mocha, blackberries, floral notes. Very luscious mouthfeel, low carbonation. Fairly sweet, gradually dries out. Again, more whisky than last time but not quite so much that it overwhelms the beer. Getting up there though. Gentle roasted flavours, chocolate, coffee, fudge, berries, light peppery spices, vanilla. Liked the subtler whisky of last time slightly more. [4.0] [1/14] Keg at brewery. Not much in the way of head. The whisky is less prominent and the fudginess, mocha and dark berries meld well with the barrel treatment. Very fine and dangerously drinkable.

Bottle. Nose of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, coffee. Black with lace. Soft, sweet flavor of vanilla, chocolate cookies, toffee. Very soft, almost flat. A bit like cream soda. Good.

Pitch black color. Nice soft nose the bourbon is not over powering, some oak, dark chocolate, dark fruit, tootsie rolls. Very smooth, velvety, tons of dark chocolate, sweet malty. Alcohol so well hidden. Very nice subtle bourbon barrel finish.
