Tap at GJBR 2013. Nose of banana and clove, fruits. Slightly funky flavor, very yeasty, malt a bit harsh but interesting flavor.

At the Kyoto mini-beer fest. My favorite brewery of the day (and these days my fav in Kyoto) was Ichijoji Brewery who specialize in fruit beers due to their happoshu license which limits the amount of malt they can use so this weizen is most likely made with actual bananas rather than getting the banana flavor from the yeast esters. It was a slightly dark yellow gold, cloudy with a thick head. The banana flavor was a nice accent but not overpowering.
