Bottle shared with Nick at the Euston Tap, London on my birthday. Thanks, amigo! Pours clear, dark brown with a creamy, beige foam head. Very juicy hop aroma with lots of citrus, dark cherries, grapefruit and grapes. Medium to big sweet flavor with moderate roast, pine, grapefruit and ripe citrus. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Mild sticky, resinous hop finish with more pine, tropical fruits, berries, mild mocha. Very nice beer. Great complexity. Quite different from most other black IPAs I can recall.

Bottle from Beer Ritz, Headingley, Leeds, W.Yorks Saturday 17th March 2012 consumed at home Sunday 25th March 2012 Pours black with a perfect white mid sized head, dare I suggest that at a quick glance it looks like a perfectly poured Guinness. Roasty but with bags of fresh juicy hops competing for attention, good lengthy bitterness, actually the fruity, citrussy, juicy hops win out, its grapefruit zipping about, the coffee and a dab of chocolate try in vain to leave an impression and they do but the hops are stunning. bottle at home ... deep black ... thin tan lacing ... soft fruit ... pine ... vanilla ... odd but nice nose .... light sweet roast ... soft pine ... juicy malts ... big hop ... there hints there of the typical black ipa ... but its not what id say is classic black ipa ... again vanilla hints ... juicy ... pine ... this is really nice ...
