Pilsner, the world’s most popular style of beer, was invented in Czech Bohemia, perfected in Germany, and turned into flavorless mass-market fizz in America. Chuckanut’s Genuine Bohemian Style Pilsner is a thing of beauty; it is delicate, sharp, flavorful, aromatic, and appetizing. Pilsner’s cold fermentation leaves the beer clear and bright after its long aging process. High levels of natural carbonation in Chuckanut Pilsner result from the aging process, creating a pillowy white head on top of the golden liquid. Chuckanut Brewery’s genuine Bohemian style Pilsner is truly mouthwatering, deeply satisfying, and incomparably refreshing! Chuckanut Pilsner has won two GABF Medals and a Gold World Beer Cup medal!

On tap at the brewery in Bellingham - USA. Gold light clear pour, white foam. Nose: crumb, clean weedy Pils feel, yeast. Franconia! Mouth: crispy, clean Pils malts, a bit honey end. Great clean Franconia Pils. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught at Walrus and Carpenter, 11/7/15.
Clear, highly carbonated deep golden liquid supports a medium-sized white head with moderate to moderately-high retention.
Good burst of zesty, spicy and floral hop notes in the nose with a strong sweet hay-like character behind it. Clean, with no alcohol and good minerality. Not too heavy on the doughiness.
Moderately sweet, with a strong maltiness yielding plentiful, rich honey notes that are well-balanced by liberal hopping adding spicy herbs and such things as we know and love from the saaz hop. Very carbonated, but it’s not sharp or fizzy and keeps it very refreshing. No flaws and quite clean.
These guys just won Gold for their Kolsch at GABF, which, in my mind is one of the biggest accomplishments you can have in the beer world (a gold in kolsch or a light lager category). Those are tough styles to do competently, let alone on a gold medal level.

Tap - a very clean and balanced rendition - medium sweet up front, but dries out fast and brings some punchy.mineral and floral, grassy hops - finishes moderately bitter - clean, crisp, enjoyable.

GABF 2014. This was called their Bohemian Pils. Pours a clear golden appearance with a white head. Some grassy and fairly floral hops. A little bit of spiciness. Mild herbal flavor. Pretty clean. Not a bad beer.

Draft. Golden pour. Faint floral aroma. A lot of grassy hops and grain flavor. Wheat finish. Decently refreshing, but not the best pils. UPDATE - Over the years this has grown in my taste to become one of the better pilsners. Seems to get better every time I try it, as does the pilsner style in general. Exceptionally refreshing. Nice mellow straw grain, and a flavorful, cool finish. Every day I love you more and more.

Draft - No real aroma. Pale gold with a creamy white head. Sweetness is well balanced with a nice euro style bitterness. Decent Pils.

5% on tap at Craft Beer Base it Osaka. It poured a crystal clear straw gold and had a mild grassy bitter hop aroma. It’s a really nice pils with a crisp bitter hop bite & a dry finish. Very solid. A good example of the style.

Draught at Tadg’s. Clear gold, nice fine head. Nice pilsner nose, grassy hops, pepper. Clean bready malt. Full, rich body. Great bitter finish. A very good pils, in the north German style.
