Tap at Edo. Dark brown colour, not much head. Aroma is lots of roast, bit of fruit, but mainly roast, bit of smoke. Taste is bit of sweetness, lots of roast again, cocoa, bit of coffee, nice. Maybe felt a bit thin, but tasted good.

On tap at Higobashi Beer Belly’s Strong Beer Event. 9%. 1 year old, pitch black with a beige head. Umami aroma,I am happy to finally rack up this Masaji beer. Umami & chocolate nose, smooth medium body. The taste is sweet, dark chocolate with port like notes, winey, smooth, rich dark beer, bitter. A dark American Imerial Stout made with Citra. Interesting mix between citrus fruitiness & dark beer bitterness. ---at 2 years old this beer is nothing at all Stout like, all dark beer character is gone. a cola looking pour with red accents. The nose is musty orange. Spritzy carbonation. The taste is incredibly citrusy sweet, tangy with minimal dark malts. It has a huge orange/citrus flavor on a light body. Very odd, close your eyes and it could be an APA or blond ale. Original 3.6 now 3.3.

Draught at Tenma. Roasty malt and citra hop nose, chocolate, coffee. Black with lace. Roasty sweet flavor with citrus, chocolate, coffee. Quite sweet and not very burnt, orange chocolate flavors dominate. Nice, maybe will be even better in a couple months’ time.
