Organic Free Range Red

Bottle - Malty orange with lots of caramel. Clear amber and a beige head. Sweet caramel and light hop bitterness. Very malty and nice.

12 oz. bottle, pours a hazy amber orange with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out bready malt, toasted caramel, and light resinous hops. Flavour is along the same lines, with toasted dry caramel, bready malt, and faded hop resins. Pretty laid back, but reasonably balanced. It's alright.

Have had from bottle and on tap. Pours out a copper amber topped with a sand head. Nose is sweet caramel malt some bread along with a nice hop addition. Taste is more of the caramel malt sweetness and a nice crisp hop balance.

12oz bottle from a six pack that was gifted to me. Unfortunately, I always steer clear of hoppy and malt beers that have a penchant for caramel flavors. Hey, guess what, this is exactly that and I really don’t like that flavor combo. Who does? Who do I give the rest of these beers.

On June 21, 2015. At Stateside Craft, in Vancouver, British Columbia.Listed as 6.1% ABV and 60 IBU.Clear brown color teal head. Malty, fruity, bitter taste. Fruity, bitter aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, high bitterness. Hoppy, fruity scent.

Tap. Pours clear reddish copper, small beige head, good lacing. Aroma is malty, Bready, toffee, biscuit, grass. Flavor is light sweet, a bit of bitter hop bite. Grassy, hint of metal. Medium body.

Beautiful reddish amber pour with small creamy head. Light malt aroma, taste introduces some crisp hops to the malt backbone. Dry, chalky, bitter finish.

Draft: Poured a darker Amber with off white head. Light hops aroma fills the nose. Nice malty and bitter mix that work well together.

Yikes, I just saw the bottling date and didn’t want to wait on this any longer. Woops to me for not watching my dates closer. The date says March 11, 2014, stamped white in bottom right corner.
Into a pint glass, it goes.
The appearance is a nice hazy amber color with a decent two finger white foamy head that lasts for a good minute and a half before it concaves gently leaving a nice somewhat thick foaminess sticking finely to the sides of the glass.
The smell had a decent amount of some bitter Northwest piney hops that end up allowing a decent amount of citrusy sweetness to enter as it warms.
The taste was mildly sweet but allows a nice bitterness to settle over my taste buds. There is a slight bittersweet hoppy aftertaste that leads to a quick dry yet sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sits about a light to medium and shows a decent sessionability about it. I will say there is a decent sharpness pounding on my tongue somewhat like an AIPA but its nothing overbearing.
Overall, this is another winner by Laurelwood and even at this old, my apologies for not reviewing this fresher.

Nice bread and caramel, but it smells a bit old. Ok beer but nothing special.

2014-04-20, draught at Serious Biscuit, Seattle, 6-5-7-3-14=35
Dark amber color, clean, with creamy head. Good use of the caramel, both for the aroma and the flavor, with moderate sweetness, soft and round body, strong bitterness, and some hop resins.
Clean beer.
