Clear copper/amber pour with a small cream head. Aromas of malts, white bread, some citrus and pine. Similar for the taste with a hint of hay. Sessionable, but not really memorable...

Tap at Craft Beer Server Land. Amber colour, off-white bubbly head. Aroma is lightly spicy, citrus, lots of malt, bit sweet. Taste is pretty good. Biscuity malt, nice lemon citrus, that UK thing I seem to find in their beers but this time it works for me. Maybe my favourite of their beers so far.

Keg at Len - Kyoto. Pours clear copper with a creamy topping. The nose has some lightly toasted pale malts, earth and leaves, citrus peel and pine. Light sweet flavour with moderate grassy bitterness, crunchy lightly toasted grains, bread, dried pine. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with further grassy hitterness, more pine, toasty malts. Enjoyable, if a bit old school.

Tap at multiple places around Tokyo. Amber color with 2 finger of off-white foam. Lemony zest on the nose with caramel malts a bit of honey. More of the same on the palate with good carbonation. Well-balanced but maybe a tad sweet. British-style pale with a slightly sweet finish. Maybe not my style, but not bad.

Outsider Brewing The Counties Pale Ale, on tap at Len Kawaramachi. A beautiful amber-red pour with a creamy light beige head. The aroma is fruity, peppery with possibly some of that earthy grain character I associate with rye malts. Medium bodied with a decent mouthfeel. The taste is fairly simple: bitter hops, a bit of honey from the malts and an earthy tea-leaf bitterness in the finish. Not so exciting but alright.

Draught at Tadg’s. Comes across as a little brother of the IPA. SImilar malt character, caramel-toffee, but here it is way ramped down. Grassy hops, light citrus, very dry and clean. Extremely drinkable and refreshing with a very dry, slightly bitter finish.
