Stronger ’11 another dark sour this one is a cola black with a light beige head. The nose is sour tart pine nuts with a dash of fruits. A zesty light body which is screwing with me as the first flavor hit is chocolatey stout then sour vinager tartness with a bit of red berries & oak. Maybe a touch of smoke as well? Another winner.

Small glass, on tap at Schouskjelleren. Pitch black body under a decent tan-coloured head. Tart and sweet aromas of berries. Taste like a kind of tart berry juice all the way, partially offset by oak vanilla sweetness. Heavy stuff, drinkable, but really not my kind of beer (Oslo 03.09.2013).

Tap @ Schouskjelleren, Oslo. Black with a small light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, coffee, wood and sour fruity. Flavor is quite sweet, moderate bitter, and light acidic. Dry, moderate bitter and light acidic finish. 280713

An imperial stout aged in peated scotch barrels and soured. Dark brown with an orange tint and a high tan head. Wacky nose or peat, chocolate, a bit of coffee, and some vegetables. A bit off-putting, though interesting. Flavor works much better, with creamy chocolate and vinegar, vanilla, wood. Had a great balance of sweet-sour-burnt-smoked. Complex and tasty.
