330ml bottle @ Shrewsbury Beer Share, June 16, courtesy of myself. This was in a beer hamper given to my Belgian father-in-law. Remarkably he didn’t want it, so here it is. Pours clear gold, minimal head. Aroma is sweet, not exactly rum, but some spiced spirit. Taste, again, doesn’t come across as rum-influenced, there is spice, vanilla, Desperados.. overly sweet.. pretty terrible.

Bottle at O’Neills, Reading. Amber with no head whatsoever and virtually no fizz- almost completely flat, which exacerbates the rather sticky mouthfeel. Very sweet from the off. The rum is obvious, which is fine by me (I like rum) but it’s sweeter than rum; tastes like there’s lots of brown sugar in there too. Unfortunately a cheap-tasting generic pale lager does rear its head occasionally and completely fails to work with the rum. Luckily the cheap lager is almost completely hidden by the rum. A little twist of the lime in the finish is a pleasant surprise. Overall it’s a pretty bad beer in all honesty (if it can even be considered a beer), but I like rum and I like lime and I therefore liked this more than I probably should.

Heller süßlicher Beginn, der an Brause und kurzzeitig auch an Cola erinnert. Süffig, Rumnoten werden zum Ende ersichtlich, in dem die Süße aber beibehalten wird. Kindertrunk.. 8/7/9/6/6/6

Canned 500ml. -from Casino supermarket, Alpe d’Huez. Luton version. Golden coloured, medium sized white head, faint rum in the nose. Overcarbonated as hell, faint citrusy rum taste, sugary overall. Simply not good.
