Cask at EBF Easter 26. Dark and cola brown periphery. Thin foamy beige head. Aroma has light fruit and a coffee and liqourice streak. Flavourwise it has coffee and liqourice bitterness with underlying berries. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Nice

Gravicask Spa Valley 9th Beer & Cider Festival. Shared with Finn. Shiny naked surface, black in the glass, faint lacing. Bread and berries on the nose. Quite rich taste of biscuit and blueberries added by a chocolate bite. Smooth mid-sweet ending. Fine depth. Nice. (Tunbridge Wells 18.10.2019).

Cask at Green Dragon Croydon. It pours darkest brown - black with medium bubbly tan head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, sticky blueberry pie, roasted malt, toasty and chocolate cake. The taste is bitter - sweet, charred roasted malt, earthy, peppery spice, cacao, unami, blueberry vibes (but not in an artificial way), fruit cake and a touch of liquorice. Medium body and soft carbonation. I kind of worried this would come across artificial, but it didn't. Decent.

Gravity cask at the 2017 Cambridge Beer Festival. Purplish brown/black with just a hint of translucency. Lots of natural carbonation on display giving the beer a ring of tan head. Smoky aroma - the malts have been roasted to hell - with a slight fruitiness. The promised blueberry is more evident in the taste; although it’s in stiff competition with the heavy malt element, it shines through enough to provide a fine balance. Homemade blueberry pie with terribly burned crust in the aftertaste, with a possible touch of Marmite. Intense and enjoyable.
