15/9/2024. Bottle courtesy of Painy’s travels to the Far East. Pours clear pale golden with a large long lasting frothy white head. Aroma is malty, citrus, floral, hay. Starts a little sweet, with excellent developing bitterness. Medium body, very smooth, average carbonation. A very well done pils. Rare I rate one this high.

Tap at Shibuya Beer Terminal Festival. Light golden colour, small white bubbly head. Aroma is lots of wheat, flour, bread. Taste is nice, wheaty, crisp, slight citrus hop finish. Solid.

Tap @ Beer Boy, Nakameguro. Nice clear golden pour, finger width of foam on the top. Looks legit. Fresh nose, crisp malty base with a touch of noble hops. Tastes malty, some sweetness, bready and crisp, refreshing. Has been my favorite Japanese pilsner for years, always happy with this.

On tap into a plastic cup showing clear filtered dark yellow with a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows light tropical hops and malts. The palate is perfectly and smoothly carbonated and medium to full bodied. Begins with flavors of light apple to lightly sweet and grainy malts with the final pils bitterness to finish it off.

On tap at Watering Hole. Crystal clear straw color with a medium-sized white head that lasts throughout. Aromas of grain, biscuit, peach and papaya all present. Taste is more of the same with the malts really standing out. The fruit flavors take a back seat to lightly peppered hops. Great take on a pilsener and so good served fresh on tap. --- Beer merged from original tick of Fujizakura Heights Pils on 09 Jun 2015 at 22:01 - Score: 7
