Bottle from High Point, Vancouver
Hazy amber color with compact head. Mild aroma of malt and caramel. Lean body; the malt has a bready accent, and it doesn’t have any crisp/crackery quality expected in a modern IIPA; the bitterness is quite high, but there are no notable hop qualities.
Overall, a drinkable beer, nothing more, hence grossly overpriced.

Scorpion is cool but Sub Zero is awesome as well. Pours a clear copper color with a small white head. A light citrus and caramel nose. The flavor is hop resin, bitterness, caramel, biscuit, a bit green. Solid. 90s iipa like.

Light haze on this gold - amber beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth malts, there is a very light touch of grain. Piney hops, mild hop spice. Light orange peel. Light finish brings some orange peel bitterness. Quite drinkable but lacks hop brightness and there are many better DIPAs about.

Bomber from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours coppery gold with a near-beige head. Lots of fruity and citrusy hop for aroma. Med + body. Flavor is fruit, pine, citrus and a bit of earth. It wants to be dank, but I don’t think it gets there. Close tho. Lots of hop and lots of bitter. Hop burns! Good stuff.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, lemon/orange peel, pine, caramel, toasted biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of juicy citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, lemon/orange peel, pine, caramel, toasted biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, lemon/orange peel, pine, caramel, toasted biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy juicy citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero hop astringency lingering after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a smooth, moderately sticky/resinous, and creamy/bready balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a very nice DIPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy juicy citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. Malty for a DIPA, but is not overly sweet or heavy for the ABV; with plenty balancing bitterness and dryness. A very enjoyable offering.

22 oz. bottle, pours a clear copper orange with medium beige head. Aroma brings out a great balance of big resinous hops and caramel malt. Flavour is massive, with loads of resinous hops and a fat sticky caramel malt backbone. Nicely balanced, with a chewy palate. Not too sweet though. Very nice.
