Slacker may be the laid back little brother of Brass Monkey, but he still knows how to get funky. This flavored ale has a smooth malt foundation layered with a zest of orange peels. The addition of vanilla beans creates a creamy, slightly sweet character that melds seamlessly with the robust citrus notes. Slacker is certainly a chimp off the ol’ block.

Tap at Vertere. Bit weird. Pale ale like but with just a hint of the orange and vanilla. Not sure they're a great combination. Bit of citrus in the aroma. After a couple of sips getting more vanilla at the end. This is quite nice, but feel like something's clashing somewhere.

Robert brought this one back from a trip out west. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark golden-bronze color with a large foamy orange-white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was vegetal, sweetish and malty with a touch of vanilla and citrus. The flavor was odd and off with artificial vanilla, a yeasty undertone and citrus. Long finish. Moderately full bodied. Not good.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear orange color with a small white head. A light sweet fruity nose. Sweet, dusty, grainy, some oranges, a bit of toast. Round earthy core. Decent, a bit of glue like flavors that I sometimes get.

6.1% A brassy orange with a big fruity aroma that is lush aramel and hops. A med-full body that had lots of lemon, caramel and richness. A decent beer but kind of too high in ABV for summer. 3.4

12 oz bottle. Aroma is dough, skunk, vanilla, orange, Kool-Aid powder. Pours slightly hazy golden with a collapsing off-white head. Tastes like a mixture of water, a bland beer base, and an orange creamsicle. That sounds weird, because I know all beer is made with water, but it’s like they brewed a bitter blonde ale and then mixed it with a bunch of water to dampen down the flavor and then added the orange peel and vanilla. Bizarre. There’s a hop bitterness, though. I hated Brass Monkey, so if this is a lighter version of that, it’s definitely an improvement. What a weird beer, though. It gets points for being interesting.
