Single from Lone Star. Stemless back at the hotel room. Slight bottle bomb, extra foamy, eternally sticky, faintly hazy. Peppery, slightly floral, a twinge of something tropical on the nose. Delicate citrus, bittersweet leaning sweet. Softly floral yeast, slight lemon, herb-y but very restrained hops. Gentle mousse & yeast. So-so carb. Refined but a little boring. Would drink this all day if were a touch cheaper.

330 ml bottle. Clear honey gold pour is topped by a large pillowy white head. Bright, yeasty malt aroma hints at lemongrass. First sip yields notes of doughy malt, hay, lemon pith, white pepper and light citrus. Fairly complex with a dry minerally finish.

Pours slightly hazed gold into a tulip. Bright white head with excellent retention turns soapy as it recedes. Sweet hay and meadow aromas. Crisp with sweet bandaid, hay and meadow front to back. Dry, lasting earthy hop finish.

Bottle from Foodery: pours golden with white head. Aroma is floral, yeasty. Pleasant and refreshing. Nothing too complex.

On tap at The Rusty Bucket, Eltham. Clear gold pour with a white head. Nose is citrus, white pepper, touch of vanilla. Taste is sweet herbs, vanilla, very peppery, bitter citrus. Spicy, fruity approach. Interesting.

Medium to thin bodied - clean & dry Clove, Belgian yeast, white wine & stone fruit tastes. It's weak La Chouffe.

For an 8 percent, this feels surprisingly thin on the palate. Mildly bitter malt, you pick up mild esters and tropical fruit notes. Lingering bitters that's a little harsh.

330ml bottle from Boise Co-op. Hazy golden pour with a towering foamy head, streaky lacing. Looks like a triple. Smells like one too. Rich bready, yeasty aroma. Taste is buttery, yeasty, dough and the presence of light savory notes near the finish, and a nice crisp bite at the finish. A real joy to drink. Going against the flow with ratings. I loved it.
