Bottle at the mondiale 2014.
Clear golden pour, with a hige white head. The aroma is ALL funk. Unbelievable amount of funk. Horse blanket, super sour lemon, wet hay, and crusty bread are all present. The carb is perfect, and the mouth feel is very good. The finish is just all funk. This is one of the sourest lambics ive had. Its so sour the finish actualy starts to detract from some of the subtle flavours. Good but not great.

LCI. Some lovely lambic tartness, slight metallic note perhaps, but still easy drinking

Huge, off-white head, bit fluffy, over very Champenoise carbonated orangey-yellow beer. Horseblanket, Brettanomyces, green and other herbs. Bit sticky-leathery aroma. Fresh flavour with again green herbs and of course, horseblanket, saddlesoap. Exotic green fruit, sorrel. Finish is a bit sharp, burning MF. Indeed Champenoise pearling, and very well-carbonated. Very slick, tittilating MF. Light acidburn and -thinning. Indeed utterly Champenoise version of lambic - how they create the CO² is anybody's guess.

0.75 l bottle as 'Bzart Lambiek Millésime 2018', 7% abv, purchased at 'Etre Gourmet'. Slightly hazy, orangeish golden with a large, slightly fluffy, slowly diminishing, white head. Slightly sweetish, sourish, rather funky, dusty and quite fruity aroma of overripe lemon, horse blanket, white pepper, gooseberry, apple and oak. Minimally sweet, gently sour, rather funky, quite fruity and a bit vinous taste of overripe lemon, apple, horse blanket, oak, gooseberry, white grapes, some leather and white pepper, followed by a medium long, gently tart, fairly woody-dry finish. Almost medium-bodied, gently astringent, spritzy and rather effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Tasty, refreshing and delicate Gueuze, nicely dry and superbly balanced, excellent. Higher carbonation suits the style well. Great beer to finish 2023 with.

Bottle shared. Slight hazy golden. Deep funk, woody, earthy, leather, lemon zest, old oak. Quite mineral with some present CO2. Medium sweet and sour, lighter bitter. Solid medium bodied with sparkly carbonation. Nice.
