Limited release. Swimming in a fresh water pool at the base of a cascading waterfall is what we all imagine we would find in paradise.
On Maui, follow the old Hana Highway and you will find such a place – Wailua Falls. This plunging cascade of clear water is the inspiration for our Limited Release Wailua Wheat. This golden, sun colored ale has a bright, citrusy flavor that comes from the tropical passion fruit we brew into each batch. Sit back, relax and enjoy paradise anytime.

Bottle brought back from Hawaii by Paul. Hazy yellow colour with a good sized white head. Passion Fruit and grass aroma. Fairly sweet but not overpowering. Fairly high in carbonation. Not really something I’d normally drink but it was OK.

bottle rated 8/30/13 - Pours dark gold with a small head. It smells of caramel malt and a hint of fruit. The flavor is of lightly toasted caramel malt with a hint of fruit. It could use more of the latter. It’s bubbly and light bodied. It’s rather mediocre. Notes from a relate in 2019 show I liked it more the second time. Maybe it was fresher. Got some tropical fruit notes with the grainy malt and yeast and it was fairly refreshing. 3.2 total. Will average with my original 2.5 rating.

Bottle. A- Tropical fruits, wheat. A- Golden orange color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Tropical fruits, pineapple, passion fruit, wheat. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, fruity finish. O- A good fruity wheat. The passion fruit adds a new dimension.

Slightly Hazy Yellow, Small Head, Light Lacing. Probably the nicest thing about this beer is its aroma - Passion Fruit. Sweet, Passion Fruit, Wheat Sour Finish. I think it is Too Sour and Over carbonated. Drinkable, but just OK for me...

Bottle. LIght fruity wheat malt aroma. Hazy golden yellow with a small white head. Just like the nose, light fruity wheat malt flavor with an odd subtle bitterness in the finish. Light body, moderate carbonation.

Bottle provided by Kona for review. Pours a big fizzy head over a slightly darker than normal gold body. Plenty of bubbles, beer is pretty clear. Not much for me to smell, just a touch of tang (I don’t want to call it sourness, it’s not that strong) that hints at a bit of fruit in the mix, and 14.5 IBUs aren’t leaving a lot of hop to be noticed. Taste goes along with most American wheat styles. Just a light thread of the spicy syrup note that comes from a tropical fruit, so I’m not knocked over by too much fruit extract. Very decent on a hit summer day like this one.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a tulip. Pours slightly hazy pale golden with small white head which dissipates quickly. Some small bubble lacing, light body, light carbonation, and rich passion fruit aroma. Taste is citrus, passion fruit, with grain backbone. This is a good easy drinking outside summer beer.

From a bottle at the On Tap summer beer tasting. Pours a cloudy pale gold with a white head. Slight pineapple aroma. Crisp and light with a flavor I am not too found of.
