Limited release. Swimming in a fresh water pool at the base of a cascading waterfall is what we all imagine we would find in paradise.
On Maui, follow the old Hana Highway and you will find such a place – Wailua Falls. This plunging cascade of clear water is the inspiration for our Limited Release Wailua Wheat. This golden, sun colored ale has a bright, citrusy flavor that comes from the tropical passion fruit we brew into each batch. Sit back, relax and enjoy paradise anytime.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Total Wine, I'm thinking this rating is from some time in 2007...

Overall Impression: Interesting flavor, a little too sweet for my liking, decent, but it's certainly nothing to write home about.

12oz bottle. Cloudy murky pale yellow color. Some subtle wheat and fruit aromas. Very light stuff but with nice fruit and wheat subtleties that capture it from the wastelands of swill. Very likable and drinkable but that same lightness is its weakness. A little too light bodied. At the same time Id gladly drink five more.

Bottle 355ml.Unclear hazy medium yellow color with a small, fizzy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, wheat, citrus - lime, fruity. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Very refreshing. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (050808)

A lightly hazed blonde with a thin white head. A sulfury aroma strikes first with light acrid notes. In mouth, the passion fruit is lightly acidic and pungent, but this is a lightweight. Overall, not impressive.

12 oz bottle generously shared by Dansting. Pour is a hazy white yellow. Smallish white head. Aroma of celery salt, body odor, and weird vegetables. Real bad nose. Taste is wheaty, citrus lime, passion fruit and some yeastiness. Taste is actually quite pleasant, which was a bit of a shock after the nose. Palate is clean and short. Thanks for bringing this one back stateside, Dan.
